Dora is a 13 year old collie whose owner passed away, and she ended up at county shelter. Dora was scared and in bad health, unavailable for public adoption due to her condition. She had lost almost all of her fur and was skin and bones. D&G, a non-profit dog rescue, was able to get her into a foster home with some kind retired folks. Under their care and attention, Dora has flourished. She loves her daily walks, and ball time best, but also enjoys taking naps and being rewarded for her good behavior with treats.
Senior dogs are often overlooked at shelters, and those with medical conditions and ensuing costs usually don’t stand a chance. Dora is a success story. She’s going to live out the rest of her life in a loving home with a happy, comfortable existence.
